“Very well priced and so so clean! A super warm welcome even though we arrived quite late! The owner still walked us to our room switched the heater on and wished us a good night, felt like we had checked into a 5 star hotel! Comfortable bed, clean bathroom with good shower pressure. The old school look and feel of the motel is great! I’ll definitely stay here again :)”

“What a great spot for a stopover! John your host is brilliant! Great country hospitality and charm. The rooms are tidy and clean and the bed was super comfy. Wouldn't hesitate staying here again what so ever! Even more charm was added when "The General" rolled out along with an old American Police car!”

“What a great find! The retro aesthetic is perfectly paired with sincerely old-school Aussie hospitality. John is a lovely manager who takes care to ensure we have everything we need and is ready with tips for local spots for meals both on the night of the stay and in the direction of our morning departure. He welcomed us more warmly than my mother-in-law does to her home! The location close to the main highway is perfect with minimal road noise. It's in a small hamlet, so a quick 10 minute car trip will get you to shops for anything you need during regular business hours, or from a highway servo. With notice we were able to stay with our dog without problems and with responsive communication on confirmation of the arrangement. Rooms are comfortable with free wifi, microwave, mini fridge and nice hot water in the shower (available between reasonable AM & PM hours I'm guessing due to solar setup). Personal balconies are lovely for sitting and watching the sun set over the cane fields.”

“A true delight! A lovely, affordable stay. My bed was comfortable, my room was clean, and all the bathroom facilities, while being a little older, worked perfectly. The hotel has a very cute retro vibe, with an added vintage radio in the room and cool Californian cop car out front. Don't mistake retro for old though, as the furniture and amenities inside were far from it. The WiFi was fast and the air-conditioning was quiet. I wasn't able to work out how to turn off the patio light during my one-night stay, so in case it cannot be turned off, maybe pack a sleep mask if you're affected by light as the blinds aren't blackout. John was very friendly and more than willing to offer help and advice if needed. I checked in a little later in the evening and he had prepared a seamless self-check in (and out!) for me. It was a shame I was only there for a very brief stop in as the small town seemed lovely and the local businesses seem to be worth exploring. Hopefully I will be back soon!”

“The location is great right on the highway but far enough away to avoid the noise. The motel has character and I always like to try and support these types of motels that really deserve preservation. The room was comfortable and had all the things needed despite its older style which is part of the experience. Some areas like window shelves and vertical blinds could do with a clean but overall I was pleased to visit and support this motel that exudes character. Came back for another visit and stayed in another room which was very comfortable. Just had a lot of insects inside the room this time which was a simple fix with a bit of spray for this time of year and the humidity.”

“We were a bit stuck on accommodation and the owner was very helpful and accommodating of us and our dog last minute. The rooms were comfortable, clean, quiet and good value. We were given a very easy to follow late check-in procedure and tips on the area. It's so good to find people like this who are flexible and kind and made such a difference to our trip. Highly recommend.”
